Ten, and the game means ten
Valheim caps a server at ten players and is built around that number, so your pass runs the whole game. Nobody is selling you the last two slots back.
Wake in a Norse purgatory, build a longhouse, sail out, and go back for the thing that killed you last time. Up to ten of you, and it has held a crowd for five years.
Up and joinable in about ninety seconds.
AT A GLANCE
Valheim caps a server at ten players and is built around that number, so your pass runs the whole game. Nobody is selling you the last two slots back.
Pick a password, press deploy, and hand out the address. No config files to edit, no ports to forward, nothing to install.
Most groups play Valheim as a run: some weeks of biomes, then a last boss. Park the world, put another game in the slot, and every hill you flattened is still flat when you come back.
Valheim starts on a Standard Plus Pass. The game caps at ten players however big your pass is, so what a dearer one buys is a world you can keep sailing out into.
THE PASS THIS GAME NEEDS
£9.99per month
Ten of you, a longhouse and the raids that come for it.
IF YOU WANT MORE
£16.99per month
A world you have sailed the whole of, with every biome built in and years of it behind you.
What you get to decide, and what each one changes. We set up everything else.
CHOICE
WHAT IT DOES
Password
Players type this to join. Valheim insists on one, so your world is never open to whoever happens to have the address.
Crossplay
Lets friends on console join, rather than only people on Steam. It routes everyone through a relay instead, which asks your server for more memory, and the deploy form tells you whether your pass carries it.
Backups kept
How many rollback points sit beside your world. Four to start with, and each one is another whole copy of the world.
Iron Gate’s own dedicated server from Steam, vanilla, with every setting written out deliberately so your world never starts on a default nobody chose.
Valheim normally buries its save in a hidden folder outside your server. We move it somewhere you can see it, so taking a copy or putting one back is two files and no hunting.
It does not appear in the in-game browser. People join with the address you give them and the password you set, and nobody else finds it by scrolling.
Your world, its rollback copies and your admin and ban lists are all kept. The game files are not, because Steam hands those back for nothing, so you never pay to store a copy of Valheim.
Your server takes each new build while nobody is playing, so you get the newest one without an evening ever being cut short to install it.
